How to Super-Charge Your Kratom Bioavailability

Bioavailability is a major factor when taking any botanical, as it determines the percentage of actual chemical compounds that will be absorbed into your system. In this article we explore the bioavailability of kratom, as well as a number of ways you can potentiate kratom to enhance it's natural benefits.

What Is Bioavailability?

Every time you ingest something, your stomach acid breaks down the compounds and decides how much should be absorbed into what parts of your body.

Bioavailability, in short, is the fraction of compounds that your body decides to process through the systematic circulatory system, versus how much it discards and digests.

Why is Bioavailability Important?

Every single human body is different and processes things differently. The amount of bioavailability something has can have a big impact on how it resonates for someone!

However, just because something is known to have a higher bioavailability doesn’t necessarily mean it will have a strong effect on someone; there is a list of factors that can alter how a food or drink settles.

What Factors Affect the Bioavailability of Kratom Tea?

This list of factors not only affects regular day-to-day vitamins and nutrients from food but also other things such as Kratom alkaloids. Consider the following when you think your Kratom isn’t resonating how you would like:

The Physical Properties of the Item You’re Consuming

Choosing between Kratom tea, Kratom extracts, Kratom capsules, Kratom soft gels, or Kratom candy can highly impact when the alkaloids are actually absorbed in your stomach and how long they resonate with you in return. Some are also more concentrated than others, therefore making the effects stronger.

Empty vs. Full Stomach

When you take Kratom on a full stomach, your serving size will have to be increased slightly if you are used to taking it on an empty stomach. This is because your stomach acid and digestive system have to work together to break down your food first before getting to the precious Kratom alkaloids! In the process of this, some of the Kratom itself might be absorbed into the food and digested without reaching the circulatory system.

When you take Kratom on an empty stomach, not only do you have to consume less, but you feel the effects faster, and usually longer. This is because the alkaloids are processed almost immediately after ingesting!

Digestive System and Metabolism

Believe it or not, the health of your Gastrointestinal tract can impact how your Kratom resonates! The intestinal microflora in your stomach is responsible for breaking down ingested substances, and the more healthy your gut is, the more ‘smooth sailing’ that process is.

Metabolism varies between age, gender, weight, genetics, and more. But the quicker your body can metabolize something directly affects how long your Kratom resonates.

Circadian Differences

The Circadian rhythm is basically a biological clock that involves our sleep-wake cycle and repeats roughly every 24 hours.

When someone lacks sleep, it throws the entire system off. Certain chemicals in the brain are released when your body realizes it needs sleep - and these natural occurrences can affect how something such as Kratom would resonate as well.

Interaction With Other Substances/Food

While this one is pretty self-explanatory, we go a little more in-depth below. It shouldn’t be a surprise that consuming certain food or drinks, especially medicine, can impact how an herb resonates with you.

Always speak to a physician before taking Kratom, especially if you are on medications that may be impacted.

Can You Increase the Bioavailability of Kratom?

There are many ways that someone can make their Kratom more “potent”. While we don’t have a blog on this topic (yet) KratomGeek has a pretty good one!

As mentioned above, certain food and drink items help with making your Kratom resonate stronger than others. For example, highly acidic fruits such as grapefruit and oranges break down the plant matter in your stomach more quickly, making the alkaloids more available to be absorbed.

Some of these items include:

  • Cayenne Pepper
  • Akuamma Seed
  • Chamomile
  • Tumeric
  • Valerian Root
  • Grapefruit (or any citrus) juice
  • Watercress
  • Caffeine
  • Cat’s Claw
  • Apple Cider Vinegar
  • Agmatine Sulfate
  • Magnesium

Many Kratom veterans have also experimented with the Red Bubble Technique

Thankfully, we make it easy for our Hippo customers to potentiate their Kratom serving - with our brand new Bioavailability formula!

Is It Safe to Potentiate Kratom?

While we as a company want our customers to have the most effective results possible when taking our product - we have to give our consistent opinion on “stronger Kratom”.

Time and time again we have talked about how Kratom Extracts and Kratom Potentiators should be treated as a novelty or a delicacy when you just aren’t feeling the same effects you once enjoyed.

However, overdoing it with Extracts or Potentiators can do more harm than good. It is very important to address a tolerance issue when you have one, rather than placing a band-aid on it with enhanced Kratom products. To read more about resetting your tolerance, check out our blogs on this topic!

What Makes Happy Hippo’s Kratom Bioavailability Formula Special?

Not only did we take months to create this special formula, but we carefully researched and formulated this product multiple times before perfecting it. Every ingredient added has a significant purpose - there is no fluff to this product

The healthy fats in the Bio-Formula help prolong the resonation of Kratom by not allowing the alkaloids to be instantly broken down. The healthy fats act as a buffer between the stomach acid and the alkaloids.

The Vitamin C, Grapefruit Seed Extract, Black Pepper Fruit, and the Magnesium all act as potentiators to help enable the prolonging effects of the slower breakdown process.

The Sunflower Lecithin helps with the mixability.  While Sunflower Lecithin does have other health benefits for you; mixability in water is its mostly intended purpose for this formula.

The product is sweetened with Stevia and has a Kiwi-Strawberry flavor - awesome for combatting the bitter taste of the Kratom plant matter!

How Do I Take the Bioavailability Formula for the Best Effects?

Mix one scoop into 6-8 ounces of warm water and stir until fully dissolved. Warm water helps the formula dissolve best, but feel free to add a dash of cool water or juice to the mixture before actually drinking it.

To optimize effects and duration, take 15-30 minutes before your usual serving of Kratom. This is so that you can fully absorb the product and basically “prep” your stomach for the next thing to come - especially if you take the Bioavailability on an empty stomach.

Conclusion

Although our Bioavailability products are new, we have had raving reviews on it ever since it’s release!

No other vendor carries such a unique product - try it and you won’t be disappointed.

SUPER INFORMATIVE. I’m gonna take a hard dive to plan a way to experiment with such things.
